Newport Gwent Dragons have their first pre season game on home ground on Friday night when Bedford visit Rodney Parade, Kick Off 7.30pm.
The Dragons have named a squad of 28 for the game, their last warm up match before the start of their Magners League campaign on Saturday 1st September and will be looking to make it three wins from three in pre season games following wins over Launceston and the Cornish Pirates.
Season ticket holders can gain entry to the game against Bedford free of charge while adults can watch from £5 and children from £1.
The squad for the game includes the nine new signings who could well make their Rodney Parade debuts with the team expected to mix and match.
Andrew Hall will captain the side and the game will provide another opportunity for Paul Turner and his coaching team to have a look at the new signings and combinations.
"We are looking forward to our game on Friday night and it provides an opportunity for us to see how we are progressing as a side," commented Paul Turner. "Everyone has worked exceptionally hard over the summer and they are chomping at the bit to get out and play some rugby. The games against Launceston and the Cornish Pirates provided us with tough workouts but now we need to step up in intensity before the Magners League kicks off. With the game at Rodney Parade we look forward to playing in front of the home supporters and we hope to give them something to cheer about and start the Bank Holiday weekend in winning fashion."
Three players have been ruled out of Friday night's clash through injury; Alex Walker is suffering with a wrist injury and is awaiting a scan, Lee Harrison has undergone an ankle operation and will be out till the New Year while Rhys Thomas has a shoulder injury but is expected to be fit for the Magners League opener against the Scarlets.
The Dragons have entered a 7's team into the Caerleon 7's competition which takes place on Monday. Included in the squad and returning from long term injuries are Gareth Chapman, Kieran Crawford, Richard Fussell, Phil Dollman and Lewis Evans.
