Dragons flanker Jamie Ringer is the latest player to be drafted into the Welsh squad who tour Argentina next week and comes as a just reward for the flanker who has been in superb form for The Dragons all season.

Ringer comes in to replace Dafydd Jones who broke down in training with an injury to his left shoulder and the Llanelli Scarlet back row man has been forced to miss the two-Test tour.

Ringer, has won two caps to date on the 2001 tour to Japan, and will join the tour party after The Dragons Heineken Cup shoot-out with Overmach Parma at Rodney Parade on Friday night.

Speaking on Ringer's call-up, Wales coach Gareth Jenkins said: "Jamie is replacing one of the squad's more senior players and he offers a wealth of experience in the game. He is a welcome addition to our squad and we are sure he will relish the opportunity to show what he has to offer in the international environment once again. He has been a consistent performer at regional level and now has the chance to put his hand up for selection for Wales."
