The game was played in poor conditions, but both teams to their credit tried to play an open expansive game. Leading 24-0 at half time the young Dragons continued their scoring spree in the second half and were eventual winners 39-0.
Both teams must be commended for the spirit in which ithey played, but enevitably the regional team's fitness, power and speed was the difference between the two sides. The performances of the front row of Aaron Coundley, Rhys Price and Stewart Maguire, and also second row Dan Crandon were particularly noteworthy as all put in excellent performances. A special mention must go to called up Gwent Districts hooker Rhys Williams. U16s team manager Billy Vivien commented, "I would like to take the opportunity of mentioning the coaches Stuart Lawrence, Mark Williams and conditioning coach Gareth Walton for the superb time and effort that is being put in to the U16 team which is begining to bear fruits."
