Cross Keys 6 Bedwas 25
In the Gwent derby of the Principality Building Society Premiership it was Bedwas who left Pandy Park with the win. The scores were tied 3-3 at the interval as the referee’s whistle dominated proceedings. Andrew James slotted over six for Bedwas while Darren Miles kicked two for Keys. However, the match did not finish try less although it took until the 79th minute for there to be a try as Justin Thomas’ over arm pass fell into the hands of Lee Mullane who went on to score. Speaking after the game Bedwas coach Steve Law commented,

“Keys play a well-structured games and it is difficult to score against them. Not many tries come the way of visiting sides and for that alone we deserved our win.”

Newport 31 Glamorgan Wanderers 27
Aled Thomas’ 16-point haul helped Newport to a narrow win over Glamorgan Wanderers who mounted an amazing second half come back. The Black and Ambers were 20-3 up at half time thanks to a Gareth Chapman and Rhys Shorney try. Shortly after the interval Thomas slotted over a penalty to give the home side a twenty-point lead. However, the Wanderers mounted an amazing second half fight back which saw them almost sneak a win and they came to within a point of Newport (28-27) before Thomas slotted a penalty in the closing stages to clinch the win.

Cardiff 18 Ebbw Vale 7
Ebbw Vale slumped to their ninth loss on the trot as they lost to Cardiff. Their cause was not helped when fly half Byron Hayward was sent off for throwing a punch.
